How to use Shift Tracker

A five-minute walkthrough: install the app, log your first game, and start seeing your stats trend over a season.

Quickstart

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with email or Google. Your stats sync across every device you sign in on — phone, tablet, laptop.

  2. 2

Install the app (optional but recommended)

Shift Tracker is a PWA. On iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android/Chrome: tap the install icon in the address bar. It launches full-screen like a native app and works offline.

  3. 3

    Pick your sport

Use the 🏒 Hockey / 🥍 Lacrosse toggle in the top nav. Your choice is remembered. Switch any time — you can log games in both sports under one account.

  4. 4

    Log your first game

Tap + Log Game. Enter opponent, date, and result. Then add shifts, shots, goals, assists, and penalties as you go — or fill it in after the game from the bench notes.

    Log a game →
  5. 5

    Review your stats

The Dashboard rolls up points, ice/field time, shot maps, and trends across all your games. Tap any game in the Games list to see the full per-shift breakdown.

Tracking workouts and body metrics

  • Log workouts manually (type, duration, intensity, notes) or import them.
  • Import from Apple Health (iPhone) or Google Fit (Android) — open Fitness → Import and follow the prompts.
  • Log body metrics (weight, resting HR, sleep) to see trends alongside game performance.
  • Charts on the Fitness page show weekly load so you can spot under- and over-training.

Team

Team features (optional add-on)

  • Personal stats are free forever. The Team add-on unlocks roster-wide tracking for coaches and captains.
  • Create a team, invite players by email or share link, and assign roles (coach, player).
  • See aggregated team stats: leaderboards, line combinations, and shot maps per player.
  • Players keep full control of their own data — coaches see team-level views, not private metrics.

Profile

Profile, devices, and preferences

  • Set your default sport, position, and jersey number under Profile.
  • Connect Apple Health / Google Fit once — devices stay linked across sessions.
  • Manage your subscription, billing, and account deletion from Profile → Account.

Pro tips

  • 01Add the app to your home screen so the Log Game button is one tap away on the bench.
  • 02Log shifts live for the most accurate ice/field time — backfilling after the game works but is less precise.
  • 03Use the sport toggle to keep hockey and lacrosse stats cleanly separated in the dashboard.
  • 04Export a game report after each match — useful for coaches, recruiters, and post-game review.
  • 05The app works offline. Anything you log without a connection syncs the next time you're online.
